Where Shadows Wait

Velvet sky unfolds
silver threads stitch dark with light
stars hum ancient songs

Moon drifts like a thought
soft upon the breath of clouds
guiding tides to dream

Owls trade whispered news
crickets weave their patient hymn
night blooms without end

A cool wind wanders
through the hush of sleeping fields
carrying the stars

Shadows lean and sway
as if listening for dawn
yet linger in peace
